Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce

Ingredients

For the Bread Pudding:

• 6 cups stale bread, torn into small pieces (any type: white, brioche, or challah)

• 2 cups milk (whole milk for creaminess, or substitute with almond or oat milk)

• 3 large eggs

• ½ cup granulated sugar

• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

• 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

• ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

• ½ cup raisins or chocolate chips (optional)

• 2 tablespoons melted butter

For the Vanilla Sauce:

• 1 cup heavy cream

• ½ cup milk

• ⅓ cup granulated sugar

• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

• 2 tablespoons butter

• 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for thickening)
